WHO AM I?
“WHO AM I?…
…Who is Alejandro Hermann?” After more than 40 years of work, study and experimentation with concepts and themes, materials and techniques, I dare to combine all that I have learned in one artistic line – restrained and personal, where the focus is on the black and white duality.
I am introducing a minimalistic work, full of thick and solid strokes which stand out from the canvas, carefully prepared involving plaster, synthetic putty and fabrics. Is upon this mix of textures and surfaces where the faceless silhouettes come to live and recover part of their soul with the motion of the oil paintings and the strokes which outs them together. My new line is born from an absolute abstract basis which inevitably flirts with figurative art.
It feeds from my own conceptual experience through the prominent details like fabrics or flowers, taking out any limit to the paintings. It has been a while since my painting has strengthened around the Buddhist-like silhouettes, considering them like a representation of my deepest spiritual self: I search peace behind my impulsive and passionate character.
Despite all the styles and materials which I work with, all of my work has a common element: they inspire the spectator to think. One of the most amazing features of my work is the psychological representation of the character and its’ emotional and spiritual state of mind.
I want this work to typify and identify me inside the art world, turn the abstract in my hallmark.
